Worst customer service ever! I went twice to this place because it was open 24-hours. The first time, I waited inside for almost a half hour for a burger. The second time, this past Wednesday night, I went to the drive-thru to order a hot dog. I had to wait several minutes before the young lady took my order. Then the order took an additional 15 minutes...for a hot dog!!!! I honked my horn to get the attention of the young lady at the window and she IGNORED ME! Then when she finally opened the window to hand me my food, she said absolutely nothing...No "thank you" or "sorry for your wait", she just handed me my food and shut the window! If I wasn't on vacation, I might of said something awful to her however I called the manager and filed a complaint. I wouldn't waste my time going there again.

However alot of the problems are because the staff appear to have to multitask too much so i blame the management. I found more than 1 person accepting/ seating guests. When i went to pay, nobody was at the cash register then what appeared to be a line cook processed my payment. I literally could have walked out without paying and no one would have noticed. We were waiting for just a little while for our shakes after we finished eating when the waitress apologized and said our shakes would be ready in a minute, to go, and she took 20% off the meal. So all in all its worth it if the food is good and ours was but it is a little hectic inside. Again I blame the manager, the staff were working thier butts off but they were just overwhelmed. I could put up with it once a year but if i lived there you could forghetaboutit!

I love Steak N Shake. It's greasy, cheap, horrible for you and most importantly delicious! I have been to many a Steak N Shake when I was at school in North Carolina, but we don't have them peppered all over the place here in NJ, although I believe there's one in the city. I don't know how much I really need to go into food with this, it's awesome. The burgers are delicious from the melts, to the Wisconsin buttery burger, shoe string fries, all delicious. I haven't eaten anything there I haven't liked. The milkshakes are the best part, every single one is amazing. But it's a chain place so really wherever you go they will likely be pretty consistent. But, the service at this one was some of the best I've had, the waitress was friendly and prompt and just all around great. This is right next to an outlet mall so it gets packed so you'd think service would suffer. Alas, it does not. The managers, waitresses, cooks everyone was great. Love me some Steak N Shake!

I love steak and shake...however do not eat here!! The service is terrible and slow. Also if you go through the drive thru make sure they aren't eating back there. I watched two women share a shake and then one picked the cherry out of the shake and ate it and licked her fingers. She was working the window. Thank God she didn't touch my food!! Gross!!!!! In the past I would visit here multiple times on vacation...that isn't the case anymore. Hope the staff and cleanliness improves.

Steak and Shakes are delicious...handsdown, one of the better cheap eats chains in the south... and worth the occasional inconveniences like crazy lines out the door and a rushed feel. This S&S in particular was FREEZING though which made for an uncomfortable meal...very chaotic even after being seated. BUT the food was amazing and made up for any and all transgressions! "Frisco Melt" and "Very Berry Strawberry" shake are a MUST.

(3.5 stars) Any place that offers a pretty decent bbq burger and cajun fries for $5 gets my support. Throw in a pretty good and very large milkshake for $3 and I can't see not stopping here. Our fries were cold when they first came out so that was disappointing but they made us a fresh batch without hesitation. The burger and fries aren't the greatest but for the price, it's hard to beat.

3.5 stars. You can get a decent hamburger and fries for $3.99. We also went during happy hour and all drinks were 1/2 price. I like the fact that you can go out and have a waitress serve you for a little over $20.00 for a party of four. The shakes are really large and good. My daughter got the mint oreo shake and my son got chocolate. They were a little sweet, but the price was definitely right. The burger was small, but tasty and I liked the little shoestring fries. Good budget friendly place!

We came to Steak 'n Shake at about 4.40 pm, got seated after a few minutes, our waitress took our order my husband ordered the western bbq burger and myself I had the guacamole burger, and two salted caramel pretzel shakes. We waited for 25 minutes for our food and our milkshakes had still not arrived so we asked another woman when our milkshakes would arrive she said well I told your waitress to tell you, you guys were next, our waitress never told us about our milkshakes being behind and then failed to check up again on us while everyone else who was behind us got served quite promptly.

One star for this hovel only because I have to give one. What an absolute disaster this place is. Filthy and disorganized without a shred of customer service. Tables weren't cleaned or cleared after each use as the place sat 2/3 empty. You have to wait to be seated(at a fast food $4.00 / meal place???) and we waited almost 15 minutes as we watched 3 wretches disguised as waitresses scarf down something from a tray (probably a previous customer's leftovers) . After engaging in a staring contest with said wretches we gave up and walked out . No effort was made to get our attention or change our minds about leaving (I guess letting a party of 7 walk away is acceptable). We were able to persuade 2 incoming parties to join us in an about-face back to our cars. What a dump!!! Break's over Ethel ,Flo, and Wanda. Hurry....someone left some fries on table #6.

Really good! We went on the weekend when kids eat free with every 8.00 spent. So for 17.00 we got tons of fries, 2 burgers, grilled cheese, a hot dog and 3 kid sized shakes. I was surprised that the food was so good for such a good price. Will definitely eat there again.

And then it took close to 1 hour for our food to come out. We were all underwhelmed with our food. My dad's burger was the saddest looking burger I think I had ever seen. It looked pitiful. The fries were also terrible. My wife had the grilled cheese and it looked like two pieces of Texas Toast with once slice of slightly melted cheese. The cheese wasn't even fully melted. We decided to order two milkshakes. Although my mom liked hers, my wife and I both agreed that it was more like frozen ice cream. The milkshake was not creamy in the very least. I will definitely not be coming back here.

This is the WORST fast food drive-thru on the planet. Don't even dream of using the drive-thru. Just DON'T. I've been here twice. The 1st time took an hour and a half to get through the drive-thru to get from ordering to being handed my cold, greasy food and melted shake. The 2nd time started well enough. We only had to place our order 3 separate times through the speaker. We pulled around and the manager took our money. And then we waited while every several minutes someone came back, re-took our order, and vanished. This happened 5 times. They sent out the wrong food 3 times, had us pull forward to wait, and finally, 20 minutes later, slouched out..with the wrong food. Never. Again.

When we asked our waiter where our drinks and shakes were he said that's a different department, I don't know. The bun on my double burger completely fell apart after the 2nd bite. We seldom get to a Steak and Shake, but only because we don't live near one. It's hard not to visit this restaurant when we visit MB. The place is bright, cheery, and clean. The kid's menu included a paper car to be assembled and adorned with stickers. I noticed that all the kids in the place who were playing with it were fully captivated until their food arrived and continued playing with it after they ate! As usual, we liked our meals. I had the deluxe chili and a slider. Great. For dessert, shakes for all. The special dark chocolate shake was...well, special. We left pleased as we always do.

When I first moved to SC, I had some coupons for Steak N' Shake. I don't know why I kept them because at that time, I wasn't even where it was or how to get there. My daughter came to visit me in February of this year and asked if we could go there. I don't know if she had been at one before or what, but we brought her there and she went in and ordered some food and a shake to go. She sat in the car and kept telling me how good it was and decided to go back in to get another shake to bring back home for later. I wasn't sure if I'd think this food was as good as she did, but just yesterday I guess I had seen an ad for it on television and thought I might like to go have a shake just to see how they were. Today we went for lunch and am I ever so glad that we went there. The place was packed and we were told there was about a 10 minute wait. We only waited about 4 minutes and were seated. I love the diner-like decor in there. I thought we'd have lunch. When I saw the menu, I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was. I am not really a 'burger' person, but they even had hot dogs on the menu! I decided on a taco salad and it was only $3.99 and was large. I didn't want ranch dressing (which seems that every restaurant down here serves ranch dressing with everything from chicken to tacos, I guess), so I asked for sour cream. It was great and I couldn't eat the whole thing. It had tiny chopped up tomatoes, crisp lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese and enough hamburger meat on the top for me. I asked if they had a smaller sized shake than I saw everyone drinking and our waitress asked me if a kid sized shake would be better. I knew it would, no matter how small it was and I got a strawberry.banana shake that was the perfect size. I enjoyed my meal and plan on going back again, probably next week!

We must have hit this place on a bad night! A rainy Friday evening at the start of Easter weekend... Once we were seated, our server was rather prompt. But then, once our order was in, we waited over 25 minutes for our burgers. The burgers were decent enough, shoestring fries were so-so. Then we placed an order for shakes. Better than 30 minutes later we *still* didn't have our shakes. Service was painfully slow. The place was swamped, but even so - there were no apologies for the slow service. We weren't the only ones waiting forever for our food/shakes either. There was very little hustle in the servers. I did hear the manager trying to motivate his employees, but it did little to help the situation. We left without ever having gotten our shakes - so, I have no idea if they were worth while... I'm sure on a slow night, this place is probably decent - but with service this bad on this visit, I don't think we'll be back.

The fries were also terrible. My wife had the grilled cheese and it looked like two pieces of Texas Toast with once slice of slightly melted cheese. The cheese wasn't even fully melted. We decided to order two milkshakes. Although my mom liked hers, my wife and I both agreed that it was more like frozen ice cream. The milkshake was not creamy in the very least. I will definitely not be coming back here.

This is the WORST fast food drive-thru on the planet. Don't even dream of using the drive-thru. Just DON'T. I've been here twice. The 1st time took an hour and a half to get through the drive-thru to get from ordering to being handed my cold, greasy food and melted shake. The 2nd time started well enough. We only had to place our order 3 separate times through the speaker. We pulled around and the manager took our money. And then we waited while every several minutes someone came back, re-took our order, and vanished. This happened 5 times. They sent out the wrong food 3 times, had us pull forward to wait, and finally, 20 minutes later, slouched out..with the wrong food. Never. Again.

Service was not very good. Our food came in a reasonable time but we had no drinks, no shakes, no napkins, no silverware. Key things to enjoy a meal. When we asked our waiter where our drinks and shakes were he said that's a different department, I don't know. The bun on my double burger completely fell apart after the 2nd bite. Will not return, there are plenty more burger and shake places.

It is what it is ..fast good food served to you fast. Large selection of burgers and I have to say breakfast is the best time to go. Their scrambled eggs are fluffy and the hashbrowns are the nice shredded kind from the griddle. You can out of there without spending as much money as a mickeyd's so thats a huge plus and the burgers are better!

We seldom get to a Steak and Shake, but only because we don't live near one. It's hard not to visit this restaurant when we visit MB. The place is bright, cheery, and clean. The kid's menu included a paper car to be assembled and adorned with stickers. I noticed that all the kids in the place who were playing with it were fully captivated until their food arrived and continued playing with it after they ate! As usual, we liked our meals. I had the deluxe chili and a slider. Great. For dessert, shakes for all. The special dark chocolate shake was...well, special. We left pleased as we always do.

Went here for a late dinner and it was packed. The restaurant was clean and looked well kept. Our server, Sigourney, was fantastic! Food was exactly what we expected and the shakes were awesome as always. Great experience!!

Great food. My best friend tried one of the shakes and loved it. I tried the mushroom and swiss burger. Delicious. I took a star away because the hostess who was seating looked at me and my party and continued to organize menus as if we were not waiting to be seated. Our waitress was very nice!

When I think of Steak & Shake I tend to think about the shakes more than anything. My fam and I decided to get dinner here after I arrived in Myrtle Beach just to try something different. All I can say is ew. The fries were nasty - stringy, greasy and flavorless, and my patty melt was all smooshed together even though it was in a solid container. I added one star because I love their shakes.

When I first moved to SC, I had some coupons for Steak N' Shake. I don't know why I kept them because at that time, I wasn't even where it was or how to get there. My daughter came to visit me in February of this year and asked if we could go there. I don't know if she had been at one before or what, but we brought her there and she went in and ordered some food and a shake to go. She sat in the car and kept telling me how good it was and decided to go back in to get another shake to bring back home for later. I wasn't sure if I'd think this food was as good as she did, but just yesterday I guess I had seen an ad for it on television and thought I might like to go have a shake just to see how they were. Today we went for lunch and am I ever so glad that we went there. The place was packed and we were told there was about a 10 minute wait. We only waited about 4 minutes and were seated. I love the diner-like decor in there. I thought we'd have lunch. When I saw the menu, I couldn't believe how inexpensive it was. I am not really a 'burger' person, but they even had hot dogs on the menu! I decided on a taco salad and it was only $3.99 and was large. I didn't want ranch dressing (which seems that every restaurant down here serves ranch dressing with everything from chicken to tacos, I guess), so I asked for sour cream. It was great and I couldn't eat the whole thing. It had tiny chopped up tomatoes, crisp lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese and enough hamburger meat on the top for me. I asked if they had a smaller sized shake than I saw everyone drinking and our waitress asked me if a kid sized shake would be better. I knew it would, no matter how small it was and I got a strawberry.banana shake that was the perfect size. I enjoyed my meal and plan on going back again, probably next week!

Being from out of town it was a nice change of pace - I don't know of any steak n shakes in the Northeast. Enjoyed the burgers and the service was adequate. Cool old school soda shoppe feel. I would recommend it if you're looking for a quick burger and want to avoid the golden arches or BK.

Restaurant was very busy, had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. Server did a great job with our large party. Food came out in a timely manner and was hot and had good flavor. M&M shake was very good as was our burgers and dogs. It really makes a fifference when the burgers are made to order. Great prices and good for families and large groups.

We must have hit this place on a bad night! A rainy Friday evening at the start of Easter weekend... Once we were seated, our server was rather prompt. But then, once our order was in, we waited over 25 minutes for our burgers. The burgers were decent enough, shoestring fries were so-so. Then we placed an order for shakes. Better than 30 minutes later we *still* didn't have our shakes. Service was painfully slow. The place was swamped, but even so - there were no apologies for the slow service. We weren't the only ones waiting forever for our food/shakes either. There was very little hustle in the servers. I did hear the manager trying to motivate his employees, but it did little to help the situation. We left without ever having gotten our shakes - so, I have no idea if they were worth while... I'm sure on a slow night, this place is probably decent - but with service this bad on this visit, I don't think we'll be back.

Good burgers with lots of toppings and combinations available. I recommend eating inside rather than drive-thru when possible--the fries are best when they're hot and fresh and the burgers are a little sloppy. Good shakes and breakfast as well.
